Class Warfare Made In Canada

Lest it may seem that this post is off mission, a brief reminder: this blog is dedicated to truth, goodness and beauty.

Instead of sitting down with protestors to have a civil discussion, Justin Trudeau chose confrontation and to demonize those who rightly criticize his actions. Justin Trudeau... .
  1. is a politician without an argument, without a plan, without respect for those who disagree with him, who routinely bad mouths decent folk, and their friends protesting attacks on fundamental freedoms.
  2. on several occasions, has worn blackface, yet plays the racist card time and time again against the truckers to avoid culpability for creating a national crisis. Shame on him!
  3. who when confronted by average citizens seeking an audience with him to address serious issues affecting all Canadians, ran into hiding, ostensibly because of an exposure to the coronavirus, avoiding his responsibility as Prime Minister to serve the people, the citizens of Canada.
  4. has attended BLM rallies that, in several instances, promoted and involved violence, vandalism (the destruction of the first Prime Minister of Canada) accompanied by obscene behaviour, burning of property, and other malicious acts. Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau refuses to attend the peaceful and respectful Freedom Convoy protests. https://twitter.com/PedroG18885948/status/1488222489478148096
  5. is a politician enabled by a national media, and driven by ideology, who habitually resorts to describing legitimate civil disobedience as insurrection to avoid a civilized national debate.
  6. is a man who has repeatedly tarred peaceful protestors singing and dancing in the street as violent and threatening.
  7. is a politician enabled by doting CBC reporters who have repeatedly been caught on citizen videos positioning their cameras to manipulate the shot, to produce and reinforce a false narrative that serves a divisive elitist ideology.
  8. refusing to face tough questions, has walked out of the House of Commons twice during question period: https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=2290953141052619&ref=sharing&_rdr
The Freedom Convoy has successfully exposed the unwillingness of the Trudeau government to govern in service to/of the people.

Intimidation Tactics

Police attempt to drain resources away from Convoy truckers by harassing and (illegally) arresting and restraining supporters, (illegally) confiscating heating and vehicle fuel delivered in approved containers: https://fb.watch/b3R0Xdjndj/

The OPP has conducted "proactive" home visits to intimidate Convoy supporters, confirming Canadians' concerns about government overreach and intimidation. Police are tracking the Facebook accounts of anyone who weighs in in support of the Convoy. https://fb.watch/b6isjl7TWK/

Curiously, those same BLM protests which involved serious malfeasance on the part of protestors, were not inhibited by law enforcement officers from toppling statues, starting fires and intimidating citizens.

Have people forgotten that it was the Trudeau government that shut down borders for months, thus preventing trade and crippling the economy? And, when other protests shut down rail lines in 2020, what did Justin Trudeau do?

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said politicians should not be telling the police how to deal with protesters and that resolution should come through dialogue.
The blockades led to the shutdown of CNR's Eastern Canadian network, causing a complete halt of freight traffic from Halifax west to Toronto. On February 19, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters estimated that CA$425 million in goods were being stranded each day of the shutdown. An executive of the Business Council of Canada called the shutdown "potentially a catastrophe for the economy" and said that rail "is the backbone of infrastructure in this country." - Atkins, Eric; Curry, Bill; Perreaux, Les; Stone, Laura (February 14, 2020). Trudeau talks when he can mine from a meeting political points.

The Convoy protest has exposed the lengths to which the Trudeau government will go to hide their incompetence and its unwillingness to withdraw its attack on conscience and other freedoms. Having endured the petulant behaviour of an at times absent and frequently avoidant prime minister, and having endured the same prime minister's insults and attempts to shame truckers into submission, said truckers deserve Canadians' gratitude for standing up for fundamental freedoms and for standing up to the self-serving actions of Justin Trudeau.

With Trudeau's action to initiate a state of emergency arrives acknowledgment that Trudeau is a petty man whose actions manifest his exaggerated sense of self importance (narcissism) while ignoring the common good.

Nathan Pinkoski, at First Things, wrote:
(T)he proliferation of mid-level manager types has transformed state politics in much the way it transformed office politics. In the office, managers avoid direct conflict and naked displays of authority. They develop competitive strategies that enforce the illusion of equality among coworkers, and penalize those who breach egalitarian standards. Thanks to mid-level managers fixated on ideological purity, cancel culture is poised to become the normal technique of business. It is therefore unsurprising that Canada’s managerial classes, obsessed with ideological purity but blind to their own excesses, supported a state of emergency with “follow the money” rules that are going to affect thousands of people (the government has promised to enact legislation to make some of these measures permanent). Just as in office cancel culture, the protesters and their supporters will not lose their lives, but they will lose their livelihoods. And it is equally unsurprising that banks and investment firms are eager to help the state rather than their clients. They’ve been unpersoning their own workers and customers for years; whether it is the government, media, or HR encouraging them to do so makes no difference anymore.
Canada is to managerialism what the Soviet Union was to communism. The country sets precedents to be followed elsewhere. In this instance, to paraphrase Giorgio Agamben, the paradigm of cancel culture is poised to become the normal technique of governance.

Hypocrisy

We can hardly be surprised that a prime minister who claims to be Catholic, yet repeatedly acts with antipathy toward people of Faith, a Faith he claims as is own, imposes severe restrictions on public worship, and who attempts to shut down all rational debate by avoiding tough questions, gaslighting people of goodwill, and by overreacting. With Catholic prime ministers like Justin Trudeau, who needs enemies?
Call to Repentance

ALMIGHTY GOD, who does freely pardon all who repent and turn to Him, now fulfill in every contrite heart the promise of redeeming grace; forgiving all our sins, and cleansing us from an evil conscience; through the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Prayers

For the Prime Minister of Canada and the Premiers of the Provinces

LORD OF ALL POWER and mercy, we beseech thee to assist with thy favour the Prime Minister of this Dominion, and the Premiers of the Provinces. Cause them, we pray thee, to walk before thee in truth and righteousness, and to fulfil their office to thy glory and the public good; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the Parliament of Canada and the Legislature of the Province

MOST GRACIOUS GOD, the author of all good things, we humbly beseech thee for the Parliament of Canada [and the Legislature of this Province, or the Council of this Territory] at this time assembled; that thou wouldest be pleased to direct and prosper all their counsels to the advancement of thy glory, the good of thy Church, and the safety, honour, and welfare of our people. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our most blessed Lord and Saviour. Amen.

For Civic Authorities

ALMIGHTY GOD, our heavenly Father, send forth, we beseech thee, upon thy servants who bear office in this city [or town, or village, or municipality] the spirit of prudence, charity, and justice; that they may in all things walk before thee with stedfast purpose and a single heart, and faithfully serve in their several offices; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
