What Ever Happened To The New Evangelization?

Image
BCC | Crucifix, New Chapel at Saint John Paul II Academy Photo by Nicholas Elbers Read time: 7 minutes. The New Evangelization is more than a fad. It is a trajectory increasingly obvious in its character as we see many people discovering and converting to the Church founded by Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church. Perhaps the label has worn out its usefulness, but the trend it identified is building in strength. Q. What do people want and need? A. People want to live rightly and be loved. Q. Who can teach them and love them? A. Jesus Christ and his Gospel. Q. Where can people find and learn from and be loved by Jesus? A. In his Church (1 Timothy 3:15). A daily scroll through social media shows hundreds, if not thousands, of young people sharing their stories and decisions to seek reception into the Catholic Church. People are searching for holiness, meaning, peace, fellowship in the truth, goodness, and beauty. They’re seeking Jesus. They want to live the Gospel. The stories of conver...

A Mustard Seed's Perspective On Evangelization

Image
We Ordinariate Catholics are a small and determined community within the Church. The Personal Ordinariates, of which there are three at present, are like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade. St. Mark 4: 31-32 Those who share in the blessings of the Ordinariate tend to be confident Catholics because the identity that we share has its source and summit in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which we call Divine Worship, the source and summit of the Christian life. The primary mission of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter is evangelization. Through the reverence and beauty of our worship, study of sacred Scripture and charity for those in need, we desire to share the joy of being Roman Catholic! Our mission is particularly experienced in our (reverent ad orientem ) celebra...

POPE LEO XIV Magnifica Humanitas

Even in the darkest nights, the Lord raises up men and women who refuse to give up, who persevere in doing good, who protect the vulnerable and open pathways to reconciliation. The memory of the saints, righteous people and the oft-forgotten peacemakers, show us that grace does not magically eliminate conflict, but instead it inspires active resistance to evil and an astonishing creativity in doing good” (paragraph 211).

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

I doubt not then but innocence shall make false accusation blush, and tyranny tremble at patience.

WORDS TO THE WHYS

The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work. Therefore we should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive. Thomas Sowell
