Of course, Prime Minister Trudeau couldn't have committed most of his bad deeds if people - ahem, Catholics, reputedly a majority of Canadians - hadn't voted him into office in the first place. A dishonorable mention goes to all Catholics who voted for the Liberal Party that has given Prime Minister Trudeau the power he has so ably abused.

In answer to any Catholic who feels unfairly accused of complicity with the culture of death, ask yourself this: May a faithful Catholic vote for someone who defies Church teaching by promoting legislation that is morally repugnant, and who waves his choices in the face of the Church and her Lord? If your answer is 'yes', then explain yourself to God. The Church has done her best to convince you to live by God's standards, but you have chosen to reject His commandments and side with a diabolical agenda. No politician is perfect, this we well know. However, there is a world of difference between someone who errs and is contrite and one who obstinately refuses to acknowledge the claims of the Faith upon his or her life. Any political party that excludes the possibility of dissent from its abominable policies, for example, is not a party that merits any kind of allegiance from a country's citizens. Such a party is one small step away from becoming the instrument of a dictatorship.

Death, Judgement, Heaven or Hell

Let's be clear - it's all about people's souls. Do we care enough to speak the truth in love? Do we care enough about our brothers' and sisters' souls to spell out the facts? Granted, to one degree or another, we're all members of the hypocrites' club. The confessional should be a second home for us sinners. Whether he asks for them or ignores them or rejects them, Justin Trudeau desperately needs our prayers, and he needs our reminders that the final destination of his eternal soul really matters to a loving God of truth, mercy and justice, Whom Justin Trudeau (and all souls) will face and be required to give reason for his actions.

Two copies of the St. Gregory's Prayer Book (SGPB) arrived a few days ago. It is a lovely work replete with beautiful devotions drawn from the English Patrimony. Both Ordinariate and diocesan Catholics would do well to acquire a copy to access its riches.
