Saints John Fisher and Thomas More

Saints John Fisher and Thomas More: pray for us.

Collect

O God, who didst raise up amongst the English people thy blessed Martyrs John and Thomas to be defenders of the faith and to witness to the primacy of the Roman Church: grant by their merits and prayers that in the profession of one faith we may all be made one in Christ, and in him continue to be at one with one another; through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, every one God, world without end. Amen.

This occurs when each right becomes self-referential, and especially when it becomes disconnected from reality, nature, and truth.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
