CathNews/Australian Catholic Bishops Conference: Installation of Msgr. Reid

Canadian Msgr Carl Reid is the second priest to lead the Australian Ordinariate, which was established in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI to welcome groups of Anglicans seeking full communion with the Catholic Church. In March, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Msgr Harry Entwistle, who had served as leader of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross for the past seven years.

"I was gathered into the offering of the Son to the Father. I participated in the self-offering of God today."

FEATURED SCRIPTURE | 1 John 3:1-3

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
