1.

Collect (For the Election of the Pope) from Divine Worship: the Missal, p. 1005.

We humbly beseech thee, O Lord: that of thy unbounded mercy thou wouldest grant unto the holy Roman Church a Pontiff, who by his tender care towards us may ever find favour in thy sight, and, studying to preserve thy people in safety, may ever be honoured by us to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

2.

Adapted from The Roman Missal.

O God, eternal Shepherd, who dost govern Thy flock with unfailing solicitude, grant in Thy boundless paternal love a pastor for Thy Church, one who shall find favour in Thy holiness and bestow upon us vigilant care. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Novena Prayer for the Sacred College of Cardinals gathered for the Conclave to elect the Roman Pontiff by Raymond Leo Cardinal BURKE.

I kneel before you, O Virgin Mother of God, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the compassionate mother of all who love you, cry to you, seek you, and trust in you. I plead for the Church at a time of great trial and danger for her. As you came to the rescue of the Church at Tepeyac in 1531, please intercede for the Sacred College of Cardinals gathered in Rome to elect the Successor of Saint Peter, Vicar of Christ, Shepherd of the Universal Church.

At this tumultuous time for the Church and for the world, plead with your Divine Son that the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, His Mystical Body, will humbly obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Through your intercession, may they choose the most worthy man to be Christ’s Vicar on earth. With you, I place all my trust in Him Who alone is our help and salvation. Amen.

Heart of Jesus, salvation of those who trust in Thee, have mercy upon us!

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Virgin Mother of God and Mother of Divine Grace, pray for us!

Adapted version of A Prayer for the Conclave by Father Chad Ripperger

O Lord Jesus Christ, by entrusting unto St. Peter and his rightful successors the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, thou didst appoint the office of the papacy. Grant unto thy Holy Church, we beseech thee, a pope who, in his fervent dedication to the Sacred Tradition of the Church, shall strive to govern the Church in accordance with the Deposit of Faith and for the salvation of souls.

O Immaculate Mary, Mother of the Holy Church and Queen of Confessors, we do consecrate unto thee the conclave and the election of the Most Holy Father. Blessed Mother, turn not thine eyes upon our wickedness nor upon the infidelity of many a Catholic who doth reject the teachings of thy Son, but rather upon the Church, which is the pure and spotless Bride of thy Son, that we may not receive the leader we deserve, but a Holy Father who shall guide the Church to the glory and honor of thy Son. Amen.

Keep innocency, and take heed unto the thing that is right : for that shall bring a man peace at the last.

The right to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, religious freedom, and even the right to life are being restricted in the name of other so-called new rights, with the result that the very framework of human rights is losing its vitality and creating space for force and oppression. This occurs when each right becomes self-referential, and especially when it becomes disconnected from reality, nature, and truth.
