The Recently Ordained Fr. Kent Grealy, FSSP

Image
Axios! Dear readers, a very joyful occasion! A few screenshots of the ordination to the sacred priesthood of Father Kent Grealy. I have known Fr. Grealy for the better part of a decade, beginning during our shared time as altar servers for our college Mass, and throughout his journey into the FSSP, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. In addition to serving in the Latin Mass (1962 Missal), Fr. Grealy also attended the Ordinariate Mass while completing his undergraduate degree. This month of June, Fr. Grealy will be offering public Masses at Our Lady Queen of Peace , his home parish during his undergraduate days and the host parish for the Ordinariate in Victoria, BC, once his required period of quarantine is lifted. Please keep him in your prayers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjuvRNkaZ4U

Ascension 2022

Image
The Collect of the Day - from Divine Worship: The Missal GRANT, we beseech thee, Almighty God: that like as we do believe thy Only Begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into the heavens; so we may also in heart and mind thither ascend, and with him continually dwell; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen. Hail The Day That Sees Him Rise by Charles Wesley (1739) https://archive.ccwatershed.org/media/pdfs/11/08/17/19-27-39_0.pdf Hail the day that sees him rise, Alleluia! to his throne beyond the skies. Alleluia! Christ, the Lamb for sinners given, Alleluia! enters now the highest heaven. Alleluia! There for him high triumph waits; Alleluia! lift your heads, eternal gates. Alleluia! He has conquered death and sin; Alleluia! take the King of glory in. Alleluia! Highest heaven its Lord receives; Alleluia! yet he loves the earth he leaves. Alleluia! Though returning to his throne, Alleluia! still he calls u...

Victoria Ordinariate Celebrates Queen's Platinum Jubilee 23MAY2022

Image
After a Said Mass offering prayers for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee, a full house was treated to tea (of course!), delicious goodies, a children's choir presentation, two quizzes (for prizes!) about the Royal Family and the Commonwealth, and a singalong before Choral Evensong featuring the Magnificat by Farrant, and psalm settings by Amner, Aldrich, Nicholson and Davies. The anthem was Diffusa est gratia (Psalm 45:3) by Palestrina. The evening concluded with two verses of the Royal Anthem. Tea-timers were gifted a Jubilee pin! Many thanks to Father Kenyon and wife Elizabeth, all organizers, contributors and attendees for a lovely and fitting celebration! Click on Images to Enlarge Fr. A Tale of Two Archbishops

Image
Many of the brethren have been prodding bishops to call out self declared "devout" Catholic politicians who routinely and openly defy Church teaching. The actions of said public officials are a scandal to faithful Catholics sincerely trying to live the Faith without compromise in a culture that is often marred by bigotry and open hostility to anyone who challenges the twisted ideologies that savagely rob people of their dignity and unborn children of their lives. The days of "personally opposed (to abortion) but publicly pro-choice (pro-abortion)" are, at least in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and - given the support shown by bishops to the Archbishop of SF - in the Diocese of Oakland and Archdiocese of Denver , at an end. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/251320/list-of-bishops-who-support-cordileones-nancy-pelosi-ban-on-holy-communion By now, avid followers of the Communion wars are well aware of Archbishop Cordileone's letter to Speaker Pelosi.
