Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

The Rorate Mass

Thanks be to God, at Saint John Henry Newman quasi-parish, in Victoria, BC, we are blessed to have three Rorate Masses in Advent, on Saturdays.

Rorate Masses are Votive Masses said by candlelight to honor the Virgin Mary during Advent. The Rorate Mass got its proper name from the first line of the Introit: Rorate caeli désuper et nubes pluant justum (Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness.)

TRUE PARTICIPATION IN THE MASS

"I was gathered into the offering of the Son to the Father. I participated in the self-offering of God today."

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Embrace Jesus. Embrace the Catholic Faith. Embrace hope and love.

THE GOLDEN ARROW

May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.

GALATIANS 5:13-14

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
