GEORGE ORWELL

In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

A Brief Examination of Conscience

Conscientia, secundum ipsam nominis originem, importat ordinem scientiae ad aliquid: dicitur enim conscientia quasi cum alio scientia. (ST I, q. 79, a. 13) Saint Thomas Aquinas
  1. Do you give others reason to love you?
  2. Why are you afraid?
  3. What are you putting in the way of God granting you His peace?
  4. Is fear or trust the basis of your decisions?
  5. Who is first in your life? God? A spouse? Children? Work? Drugs? Sports?
  6. Do you project your own inadequacies on to others?
  7. Is holiness important to you? If 'no', then what is your religion? If 'yes', then how do you cooperate with God for your spiritual health and well-being?
  8. Do you have high expectations for your children and do you offer a high level of support to help them achieve their potential?
  9. Are you indifferent to your children? Your spouse?
  10. Do you maintain high expectations without providing support to others or to yourself?
  11. Why ask how someone is doing if you are not prepared to listen to his answer?
  12. Do you really care about the answer to a question?
  13. Are you so absorbed in a thought or activity that you ignore the law of charity and diminish the legitimate needs of others?
  14. Do you avoid fairness and justice by following generic policies and procedures that inhibit inalienable rights?

When we appeal to the throne of grace we do so through Mary, honoring God by honoring His Mother, imitating Him by exalting her, touching the most responsive chord in the sacred heart of Christ with the sweet name of Mary.

SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES

Have patience with all things - but first with yourself. Never confuse your mistakes with your value as a human being. You are perfectly valuable, creative, a worthwhile person simply because you exist. And no amount of triumphs or tribulations can ever change that.

SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS

To bear with patience wrongs done to oneself is a mark of perfection, but to bear with patience wrongs done to someone else is a mark of imperfection and even of actual sin.

A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.
