WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

I doubt not then but innocence shall make false accusation blush, and tyranny tremble at patience.

Meditation And Prayer For A Transformation Of Society

Meditation
from Psalm 65

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and receivest unto thee : he shall dwell in thy court, and shall be satisfied with the pleasures of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Thou shalt show us wonderful things in thy righteousness, O God of our salvation : thou that art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of them that remain in the broad sea.

Who in his strength setteth fast the mountains : and is girded about with power.

Who stilleth the raging of the sea : and the noise of his waves, and the madness of the people.

from Psalm 67

GOD be merciful unto us, and bless us : and show us the light of his countenance, and be merciful unto us;

That thy way may be known upon earth : thy saving health among all nations.

Prayer

Omnipotent God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Who doth know the very hearts and inward longings of all souls, we do beseech Thee most humbly to make manifest Thy power and mercy. May all nations be guided toward righteousness and concord, the wicked be restrained, and the innocent flourish. Give strength and clarity of mind to Thy witnesses to enlighten those whose lives have become shrouded in darkness, so that each society may turn from ignorance and violence to embrace the Gospel of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, Father, and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

POPE LEO XIV Magnifica Humanitas

Even in the darkest nights, the Lord raises up men and women who refuse to give up, who persevere in doing good, who protect the vulnerable and open pathways to reconciliation. The memory of the saints, righteous people and the oft-forgotten peacemakers, show us that grace does not magically eliminate conflict, but instead it inspires active resistance to evil and an astonishing creativity in doing good” (paragraph 211).
