Pray for the Fellowship of Blessed John Henry Newman, Victoria, BC.

Those familiar with the struggle to find a welcoming host will readily understand the many challenges associated with actually finding a temporary home in which a community-in-formation can meet and grow until it is able to afford its own structure, its own home.

The Fellowship of Blessed John Henry Newman, Victoria, is soon going to be homeless. The parish council of the parish currently hosting the Fellowship, a Catholic parish struggling to meet its financial obligations, recently informed the Fellowship that it must move out by September 1st of this year, a short month away. The Fellowship, since it arrived some 30 months ago at its current location, has been paying a signifcant portion of the salary of the pastor of the host parish. The Fellowship has enjoyed the support of most of the host parish's members.

The Fellowship has approached another Catholic parish with a plan that included appropriate financial compensation and a complete willingness to fit into the existing schedule. After a very positive meeting and the apparent support of the pastor, that parish declined the Fellowship's offer.

Pray for the Fellowship's former host, a community that desperately needs the mercy and wisdom of God.

Members of the Fellowship of Blessed John Henry Newman are focussed on prayer and remain charitable in the face of obstacles.

Thanks be to God for entrusting to the Fellowship of Blessed John Henry Newman the challenges it faces. The Fellowship is a community like so many other Ordinariate communities that are blessed by God with more and more souls enthusiastically joining the ranks of those who desire to "worship God in the beauty of holiness (Ps. 96:9)." Prayers are urgently needed to help the Fellowship find temporary accommodation until it can acquire its own building.

The Fellowship is growing; it has doubled in the past two years since having regular Mass times and a constant location. People are attracted to the beauty of Divine Worship: the Missal and the reverent worship of God that is characteristic of Ordinariate communities.

Looking to the future, the Fellowship is certainly open to donations to help it progress to the next step of acquiring its own property and building (or renovating) a church dedicated to the glory of God:
